RECREATIONAL

Registration for 2020 is now open!

Below you will find the registration link along with a letter to parents on what to expect for this coming season.

Hello KVJSA Families:

Registration for fall soccer will be open July 15 and continue through July 31.  We are excited to see everyone but as you might expect, things will look different this year.

We are planning under the assumption that Kittitas County will be in Phase 3. We will follow the Return to Play Guidelines established by Washington Youth Soccer and US Soccer.  Return to Play Guidelines are posted at KVJSA.com on the front page.

We will not be organizing teams in the traditional sense this year.  We will continue to organize groups by age per Phase 3 guidelines.  Each group will have two weekly sessions (Monday-Saturday), ranging from 45-90 min. based on age. Each session will include training and a scrimmage.  All players will receive a reversible jersey, allowing us to break into teams for scrimmage. Experienced coaches will lead each group.  We will need multiple volunteer assistant coaches to assist.  Upper County players will practice/play in Upper County and remaining players will practice/play at Rotary Park.  Scrimmage play between older age groups in Ellensburg and Upper County may be possible later in the season.

We are planning for the season to run September 8 - October 31.  If Kittitas County reaches Phase 4, we will consider a season-ending jamboree.  If the county moves back to Phase 2, we will need to shut down.  A short spring season may be offered, if possible.

We are excited to get the kids back out and playing soccer.  Please read the full Return to Play Guidelines under which we will operate.  We highlight a few of the Phase 3 specific guidelines here.

·       Practice/Play schedules will be coordinated to minimize contact.  Players arriving early should remain in their cars or the parking lot with face mask on, until the coach indicates practice is ready to begin.  After practice, players will be expected to leave the field immediately.  It is imperative that all players waiting for a ride in the parking lot wear a mask. Parents must be on-time for player pick-up.

·       Players and coaches must wear masks between the parking lot and field on arrival and departure.

·       Any player or coach with a fever, or not feeling well, should not attend.

·       Players living with vulnerable individuals should consider not playing until conditions improve.

·       There will be no team huddles, hugging, high-fives, etc.  There will be no spitting.

·       Parents/spectators are discouraged from attending.  Parents/spectators that attend must wear masks and maintain social distancing.  Parents/spectators add density to the fields.  Overcrowding will result in session cancellation.

·       Players and coaches should use hand sanitizer before, during, and after practice.  All players are recommended to have individual hand sanitizer in their bags.

·       All players must have their own water bottle.  No sharing.  No snacks.

·       All equipment will be disinfected after every practice.

Our ability to play requires that we all abide by the Return to Play Guidelines.  Violations place the entire program at risk of cancellation. Please do not hesitate to contact any board member if you have any questions. Following the Return to Play Guidelines and staying away when not feeling well, will help this be sustainable.  So, we kindly ask that we all do our part to comply with these guidelines, and to insure we have a safe, healthy return to soccer.

We are excited to open registration and get back on the fields in September!
